October 21st, 2012 - Struggling with a glitching video board that has turned his Donkey Kong machine into "Slender Kong," world record contender Vincent Lemay just played through a rip roaring kill-screener that reached a final point total of 1,084,500... beating the standing officially-ranked scores of both Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell.
Tudose Breaks The 1-1 Record

October 2nd, 2012 - A little over six weeks remain until The Kong Off 2, and it looks as though we will go into it with Donkey Kong Jr. champion Mark Kiehl sitting just beneath "the big three" of Chien, Wiebe, and Mitchell.

September 30th, 2012 - Earlier today, Twin Galaxies verified that Steve Wiltshire of Lincoln, Nebraska has taken 9th place on the Donkey Kong leaderboard with a fantastic score of 964,600.
This means that Donkey Kong competitor Brian Kuh, portrayed in The King of Kong as Billy Mitchell's protégé (and likely to be eternally beleaguered for one infamous, immortal scene in particular), is being threatened with imminent excommunication from the top 20.

August 16, 2012 - It would appear that the Twin Galaxies website is undergoing major difficulties, now having been offline for over a week.
A visit to TwinGalaxies.com shows only a placeholder, mentioning that the site is offline "for required server updates."
NEW WORLD RECORD!
May 29th 2012 - It was announced by Twin Galaxies today (with the story being broken by Patrick Scott Patterson) that Donkey Kong world record holder Hank Chien has moved the goal posts further for any would-be challengers (and taken us a few critical inches closer to burying the Donkey Kong world record chase forever) by upping the game's topmost mark from its previous high of 1,090,400 to an elegant 1,110,100 points.
MAME High Score Crushed By The Dean of Donkey Kong!
On the morning of April 22nd, 2012 it was my joy and privilege to watch a replay of a stream that had been recorded the previous day, which (I will say without a trace of hyperbole) contained the single greatest Donkey Kong game ever played, from the man who is, in my opinion, the best player in the world.
Over the course of three hours and five minutes, MAME champion Dean Saglio managed to achieve a record-shattering Donkey Kong score of 1,167,400, beating his own previous high of 1,153,000 set just over one year ago.
