Halfway Point of the Wildcard Qualifier #2: Psaros Leads
Starting the New Year (and Finishing the Last)
January 1st, 2013 - I try to keep "meta-blogging" to a minimum, and we'll get back to Donkey Kong shortly, but there's now a build-up of matters that need to be addressed.
The Machine of Dreams
Many people have a "dream car"—some beautiful set of wheels that they've lusted after since they were young.
Well, this week I finally got mine... only in my case the "car" is a Donkey Kong arcade machine.
My Current Score Rankings
Twin Galaxies maintains a total of eleven different leaderboards for Donkey Kong variants based on platform (MAME or Arcade), game version (US, Japan, and Crazy Kong), and play variation (Standard, No-Hammer, and Level 1-1). (See below for more explanation on what all of that means.)
Here are my submitted-and-verified scores for each board (the links will take you to the score on Twin Galaxies' site):
About The Author
Chris Psaros, age 38, formerly a writer/ghostwriter/editor for a publishing company, now a tech guy/administrative assistant.
I've been a classic arcade gamer since the "classics" were new, and a website developer and content producer since the mid 1990s.
This blog is (among other things) a way to keep all of the aforementioned muscles from falling into atrophy while I hunt for more ways to put them to use.
I don't take Donkey Kong nearly as seriously as this blog might make it seem, it just makes for better reading to write about it as if I do.
I have a BA in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, where I live with my wife Alexis.
